Lion King Cast Members Visit

On February 25th, 2014, three Lion King cast members, Selena Moshell, Thembelihle Cele, and Andrew Gorell visited Lanai to work with the Lanai Academy of Performing Arts.  This series of videos features several of the workshops they did with the kids.

The True Meaning of Christmas

This original Christmas song/music video features vocal and acting performances by members of the Lana'i Academy of Performing Arts, music by Matt Glickstein, and lyrics by Jason Spraggins.  The video was done by Anthony Pacheco of the Maka Maka Film Society. Bystander Blues

Bystander Blues is an original song with music and lyrics by Matt Glickstein that's meant to compliment the ten-minute play, also called Bystander Blues, written by Trish Lindberg. The Lanai Academy of Performing Arts (LAPA) performed both the play and the song on March 8th at the Lanai Youth Summit, and members of LAPA are featured in the recording. Thanks to Selena Moshell, Thembelihle Cele, and Andrew Gorell (Lion King cast members that came to visit Lanai and work with LAPA) for their help on the singing and the choreography! The featured vocalists are Asheya Pagay and Naupaka Borders, and the chorus features the entire LAPA ensemble.

On January 19, twenty-two students and ten adult chaperones from the Lana'i Academy of Performing Arts (LAPA) traveled to O'ahu to see "The Lion King" musical.  It was a great day--from the Honolulu Zoo, to the "Lion King" to the special backstage tour and meeting the cast, it was unforgettable!
