Audition Workshop & Casting

LAPA is excited to launch our next mainstage production, Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr. with a free audition workshop for students in grades 2 and up (younger students with prior LAPA experience may be considered by exception).  Children in PreK–1st grade will perform as part of the Sea Chorus ensemble (no formal audition required). During the audition workshop, students will learn songs, scenes, and simple choreography from the show, build confidence, and get ready for individual auditions.

 

Workshop Schedule (Grades 2 & Up) - Lanai Union Church Annex

• Mon–Wed, Jan 5–7 (Winter Break): 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

  • Lunch break: 11:30 AM–12:30 PM

• Thu–Fri, Jan 8–9: 3:30–5:00 PM – extra audition practice

• Sat, Jan 10: Individual auditions

• Mon, Jan 12: Callback auditions

Sea Chorus (PreK–1st Grade)​

• Rehearsals for the Sea Chorus will begin in March, following Spring Break (March 16–20).

• Parents are encouraged to register their PreK–1st grade students as soon as they know their child will participate, so LAPA can plan ahead for cast size and costuming.

Tuition & Commitment

• The audition workshop is free; families will not be asked to pay tuition until Friday, Jan 9, before individual auditions.

• Tuition is $125 per student, which includes a cast t-shirt and show costume/s.

• Once a student chooses to move forward with an individual audition, they are committing to participate in the show in whatever role they are cast.

• Performances are June 5, 6, and 7 (times TBD). ALL PERFORMANCES ARE REQUIRED
